Before You Start

Here are some things to know before you begin this process.

• Use the Form Builder to create and style your signup form before you generate the embedded form code.
• Embedded forms inherit your website's style sheet, so the form will look different in MailChimp than it does on your website.
• If your site is secure, our forms support HTTPS.

Generate Embedded Form Code

After you've created your signup form in the Form Builder, you can choose a form option, customize settings, and generate the form code to add to your site.

To get the form code to add to your site, follow these steps.

1. Navigate to the page.
2. Click the drop-down menu next to the list you want to work with, and choose Signup forms.
3. Select Embedded forms.
   
4. Choose a form type— Classic, Super Slim, Horizontal, or Naked—and customize your Form options.
5. Highlight all the code in the Copy/paste onto your site field and use your preferred method to copy it to your clipboard.
   
6. Paste the embedded form code into your website's HTML where you want the form to appear.

The best place to add your signup form embed code varies from site to site, and you may also want to make additional changes to the layout of the web page where you embed your form. We recommend you reach out to a developer or MailChimp Expert if you're uncomfortable modifying your site's HTML, since MailChimp’s Support Agents aren't able to access or edit your site's code.

Embedded Form Options

The Form Builder offers four types of forms: Classic, Horizontal, Super Slim, and Naked. Each one serves a different purpose, so you can choose one that fits your needs best. Classic forms look the most like hosted MailChimp signup forms, Super Slim forms are great for a sidebar on your website, Horizontal forms work well as footers, and Naked has no defined styles.

The Super Slim form only includes an email address field. You can customize the title and width of the Super Slim form. If your list has required fields other than the email address, or if you want more customization options, use one of the other form options below.

The Classic form offers more traditional signup form fields, and allows you to customize additional fields and options.
